Field Service Technician (Heavy Equipment & Mobile Plants)

Area: East Rand, Johannesburg

Salary: R30,000 - R50,000 per month (CTC), negotiable based on qualifications and experience, plus standard company benefits

Our client, a leading company in the mobile crushing, screening, and material-handling equipment sector, is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to join their team in Johannesburg, East Rand. This role focuses on delivering high-quality technical service, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining the performance of mobile equipment across the mining, quarrying, and construction industries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install and commission mobile equipment on customer sites
• Perform scheduled, preventative, and breakdown maintenance on the full range of equipment
• Respond promptly to customer service and repair requests
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults across the equipment range
• Carry out warranty repairs, replacements, modifications, and equipment upgrades
• Complete all required service documentation, including accurate service history records
• Provide operational and safety training to customer personnel
• Ensure proper control and documentation of issued and returned parts, as well as company-issued tools and vehicles
• Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in a safe and serviceable condition

Requirements:

• 3–5 years' relevant field service or technical experience
• Matric (Grade 12)
• Qualified Millwright (Trade), Fitter (Trade), National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• Previous experience working for or on behalf of an OEM is highly preferred
• Experience working on mobile crushing, screening, material-handling, or similar heavy equipment
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and construction methods
• Strong mechanical and fault-finding skills
• Computer literacy
• Ability to work under pressure
