About the RoleThe Electrical Site Technician is responsible for installing, commissioning, maintaining and troubleshooting Agri Logiq greenhouse automation systems at customer sites.
You will work with electrical control panels, motors, sensors, irrigation equipment and automated climate control systems, ensuring every installation is completed safely, professionally and to a high standard.
This role involves regular travel throughout South Africa and occasional international travel. Some days will involve fault-finding and commissioning new systems, while others will involve physical installation work, working at heights, pulling cable or spending long hours on customer sites to complete a project.

- Install, commission and maintain greenhouse automation systems.
- Perform electrical wiring, panel installation and system configuration.
- Install, test and configure motors, sensors, actuators and control equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical and automation faults safely and efficiently.
- Plan installations by ensuring the correct tools, materials and documentation are available before arriving on site.
- Take ownership of assigned projects from preparation through commissioning and customer handover.
- Maintain accurate service reports, installation records and project documentation.
- Keep company vehicles, tools, equipment and work areas clean, organised and ready for deployment.
- Communicate proactively with customers and the project team regarding progress, risks and required actions.
- Identify opportunities to improve installation quality, efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Support and assist junior technicians and apprentices by sharing knowledge and promoting good working practices.
- Ensure all work complies with Agri Logiq's safety, quality and workmanship standards.
- Valid South African driver's licence.
- Eligible for a South African passport.
- Based in Cape Town with reliable own transport.
- 3–7 years' experience in an electrical, automation or industrial technical environment.
- N-Level qualification, Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation or a related field.
- Candidates with less experience but exceptional attitude, discipline and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
- Physically fit and comfortable working at heights.
- Able to safely lift equipment weighing up to 30 kg.
- Clean criminal record.
Experience with or understanding of:
- Single-phase and three-phase electrical systems (230V / 400V AC).
- Motor control circuits and electrical control panels.
- Low-voltage control systems (24V AC/DC and 12V DC).
- Electrical fault-finding using a multimeter and other diagnostic equipment.
- Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
