Job Vacancy:
Turner
Location: Howick, Kwa Zulu Natal
Seniority
Level: Mid Career (4 - 6 yrs exp)
Type: Permanent
Job Responsibilities:
- Attend to planned and unplanned maintenance on machinery.
- Attend to breakdowns with the utmost urgency.
- Carry out machining of components from drawings and samples supplied.
- Modify and improve existing equipment and plant to optimize capacity.
- Operate lathes, milling machines, and other workshop machines.
- Accurately record all work done on job cards or maintenance schedules.
- Report any mechanical issues to the Engineering Manager.
- Carry out safety inspections on equipment and plant.
- Undertake any reasonable requests of the Mechanical Foreman.
Experience:
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Theory training in mechanical trade, equivalent to N2.
- Qualified with Trade Test of Turner.
Skills:
- Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings.
- Thorough knowledge of machining practices and materials.
