• Matric certificate/ equivalent
• Section 13 Trade Test (Section 26D) as qualified Rigger
• At least 3 years’ underground and shaft experience as qualified Artisan
• Competent B Certificate
• Valid driver’s license and reliable own transport
• Medically fit
• Valid First Aid Certificate

• At least 5 years’ experience with Winders, ropes, shaft work, head gears and vertical shaft maintenance.
• Workshop procedures, installation, and maintenance
• Maintenance of quality engineering standard
• Knowledge of environmental, health and safety standards and regulations

• Conduct daily inspections to ensure the safe and effective operation of machinery and equipment
• Ensure the safe and effective handling of all Engineering machinery and equipment
• Responsible for all lifting equipment
• Assist the Shaft with all rigging duties
• Performing Planned Maintenance duties
• Sign off all daily check performed by self and subordinates
• Submit reports as required
• Ensure all safety regulations are followed and that all staff are equipped with the necessary safety gear and knowledge
