Key Outputs

• Assist the Mechanic(s) in performing moderate to complex maintenance and repair work on machines and / or components.

• Know which tools are used for which jobs and ensure the Mechanic / Technician has them within reach

• Assist artisan to obtain and check parts for particular jobs.

• Clean and maintain facilities and equipment.

• Maintain a safe and orderly workplace.

• Physically lift, keep in place and / or move up to twenty kilograms (20kgs) or use appropriate lifting and slinging equipment for objects larger in size.

Qualification, Experience and Competencies

• Matric or equivalent

• Understanding of tools will be advantage

• Ability to obtain certification as forklift operator within ninety (90) days of appointment

• Ability to obtain certification as overhead / jib crane operator within ninety (90) days of appointment ability to follow instructions under supervision

• Drivers licence – Code B will be an added advantage
