ABOUT THIS ROLE

Are you an experienced Instrumentation Technician with strong industrial control, automation and fault-finding experience?

Our client based in Rietvlei is seeking a technically skilled Instrumentation Technician to join their manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and calibrating instrumentation, fault finding on control systems and supporting electrical, automation and process control equipment.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Carry out instrumentation maintenance, fault finding, and repairs on plant equipment
Diagnose and resolve PLC-related faults to minimise production downtime
Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance on instrumentation systems
Calibrate and maintain instrumentation equipment to ensure optimal performance
Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant reliability and efficiency
Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety and quality standards
Work closely with maintenance and production teams to support operational requirements
Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Grade 12 / Matric.
Qualified in an instrumentation-related trade.
Minimum T2 or N5 qualification.
Minimum 5 years' experience as an Instrumentation Technician or similar technical position.
Experience with industrial control, automation and drive systems.
PLC programming and control systems experience.
HMI and SCADA experience.
Robotics and motion control experience.
Experience with Variable Speed Drives (VSD).
Strong instrumentation and diagnostic skills.
Industrial networking experience.
Electrical fault-finding experience, including support up to 525V.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
