Instrumentation and Control Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and hands-on Instrumentation and Control Technician to support their industrial operations in Vereeniging. This role is essential for the maintenance, calibration, and repair of critical instrumentation and control systems that ensure the efficient and safe operation of plant machinery. You will work closely with engineers and operators to troubleshoot issues, perform preventive maintenance, and implement upgrades to automation systems.

The ideal candidate is technically proficient, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining operational integrity in a manufacturing environment.

• Install, calibrate, and maintain a wide range of industrial instruments, including transmitters, sensors, valves, and control systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation and control system malfunctions to minimize downtime.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on instrumentation to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs.
• Assist engineers with the implementation and testing of new control strategies and system upgrades.

• National Diploma or N6 qualification in Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Instrumentation and Control Technician in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
• Proficiency with PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems.
• Experience with calibration equipment and techniques.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
