About the Role

Our client is actively searching for a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to bolster their engineering department in Klerksdorp . This hands-on role is central to maintaining the operational integrity and efficiency of their industrial plant equipment. You will be responsible for the installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of various mechanical systems, including pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional mechanical aptitude, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a maintenance team, ensuring minimal disruption to production schedules.

• Perform mechanical installations, repairs, and overhauls on a wide range of industrial machinery.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to identify and address potential equipment failures.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues using precision measuring instruments and diagnostic tools.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and technical manuals.
• Ensure all work performed adheres to strict safety protocols and environmental regulations.
• Maintain detailed logs of all maintenance activities and contribute to inventory management of spare parts.

• Qualified Mechanical Fitter with relevant trade qualifications or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated experience in industrial mechanical maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing or mining environment.
• Proficiency in working with pumps, conveyors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and gearboxes.
• Ability to use precision tools and machinery effectively and safely.
• Strong understanding of mechanical principles and preventative maintenance strategies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
