We are hiring a Maintenance Technician, to join our Maintenance and Repair Team.

As the Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance activities supporting operational excellence. The role includes daily plant and building maintenance, routine inspections, maintaining, repair or replacement, analyzing, and fault finding of Automation, Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic, and Pneumatic systems, D&R or Installation of process equipment.

Your Challenge:

• Perform daily plant and building maintenance activities.
• Conduct routine inspections and identify potential equipment issues.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automation, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Perform the disassembly, repair, replacement, and installation of process equipment.
• Maintain and repair all types of process machinery.
• Assemble and install machinery, conduct testing, and ensure safe and correct operation.
• Manage equipment breakdowns and ensure minimal production downtime.
• Perform preventative maintenance by identifying and correcting potential issues, replacing worn components, and lubricating mechanical parts.
• Participate in a maintenance standby roster supporting a 24/7 operation.
• Adhere to all company safety standards, compliance requirements, and local regulations.
• Provide functional guidance and support to assigned team members when required.
• Work extended hours, weekends, public holidays, and evenings when operationally required.

Work Environment:

The successful candidate must be able to meet the functional requirements of the role, including:

• Working at heights.
• Standing or sitting for extended periods.
• Safely lifting up to 25 kg.
• Operating company vehicles.

Potential exposure to hazards may include:

• Electrical shock.
• Moving machinery and equipment.
• Noise, heat, and cold.
• Fumes, dust, and hazardous chemicals.
• Slips, trips, and falls.

Qualifications

• Millwright Red Seal Trade Certificate with a minimum of 2 years’ practical experience post qualification.
• Electrical or Mechanical Diploma with relevant practical experience will be advantageous.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Wireman’s Licence will be advantageous.
• Registered gas practitioner will be advantageous.
• Reliable transport and willingness to work shifts if operationally required in future.

Experience and Skills

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar maintenance role.
• In-depth knowledge of automation, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Strong understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques.
• Effective problem-solving and fault-finding abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Well-organised with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, public holidays, and evenings as required.
