Our client is looking for a skilled and reliable Fiber Optic Installer to join their operations team in Klerksdorp. This hands-on role is responsible for the physical installation and connection of fiber optic cables for residential and business customers. You will work on-site, ensuring high-quality installations that meet industry standards and client specifications, contributing directly to the expansion and reliability of our client's broadband network in the North West province.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong work ethic and a knack for technical tasks.
- Install, connect, and test fiber optic cables in various environments, including aerial, underground, and in-building.
- Perform fiber optic splicing and terminate connectors according to technical specifications.
- Read and interpret site plans, blueprints, and installation guides.
- Troubleshoot and repair any issues encountered during the installation process.
- Ensure all installations are performed safely and meet quality control standards.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle, ensuring they are in good working order.
- Provide excellent customer service to clients during on-site visits.
- Previous experience as a Fiber Optic Technician or Installer is essential.
- Proficiency in fiber optic splicing techniques and testing equipment (e.g., OTDR).
- Ability to work with hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Good physical condition to perform demanding tasks, including climbing and working in confined spaces.
- Strong understanding of fiber optic cable types, connectors, and testing standards.
- Valid driver's license and a willingness to travel throughout the Klerksdorp area.
