About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join their fleet maintenance team in Vereeniging . This role is vital for ensuring the optimal performance and safety of their commercial vehicle fleet. You will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of heavy-duty trucks and buses, utilizing your expertise in complex mechanical and hydraulic systems. • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy vehicles, including trucks, buses, and trailers.
• Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, braking, steering, and suspension systems on heavy-duty vehicles.
• Utilize diagnostic equipment and specialized tools to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
• Adhere to all workshop safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.

• Qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanic with relevant trade certification (e.g., Red Seal).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience working with heavy-duty commercial vehicles.
• Strong understanding of diesel engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software specific to heavy vehicles.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a physically demanding environment.
• Valid driver's license, with a heavy vehicle license (Code 10 or 14) being a strong advantage.
