Role DescriptionThis full-time, on-site role as an On-Line Leak Sealing Technician is based in Secunda. The technician will perform leak sealing work on pressurized systems and pipelines while they remain in operation, following approved procedures and safety standards. Daily tasks include assessing leaks, preparing sealing materials and equipment, executing on-line repairs, and monitoring completed work for performance and safety. The role requires accurate documentation of work performed, adherence to quality and safety protocols, and clear communication with supervisors, clients, and other maintenance personnel.
The technician will also assist with routine inspections, support preventive maintenance activities, and coordinate with the broader maintenance team to minimize downtime and risk.
- Candidates should possess strong Troubleshooting skills to identify leak sources and determine appropriate repair methods.
- Candidates should possess Preventive Maintenance skills to support inspections, early detection of issues, and long-term reliability of systems.
- Candidates should possess Maintenance & Repair skills to safely perform on-line sealing, use tools and materials correctly, and restore equipment integrity.
- Candidates should possess Quality Control skills to verify repair effectiveness, comply with standards, and maintain accurate work records.
- Candidates should possess Communication skills to report findings, follow instructions, and collaborate effectively with team members and clients.
- Relevant technical experience in industrial, mechanical, or plant maintenance environments is beneficial.
- Formal training or certification in leak sealing, mechanical fitting, or a related trade is an advantage.
- Strong safety awareness, ability to follow procedures, and willingness to work in industrial plant conditions are required.
