About the Role
Our client is looking for a skilled Irrigation Technician to join their dynamic team, supporting agricultural operations in Klerksdorp . This role focuses on the design, installation, maintenance, and repair of complex irrigation systems crucial for crop health and yield optimization. You will leverage your technical expertise to ensure water is managed efficiently and effectively across various farm plots. This position offers a hands‑on opportunity to work with modern irrigation technologies in a challenging yet rewarding agricultural setting in the North West province.
Key Responsibilities- Install, maintain, and repair a variety of irrigation systems , including drip, sprinkler, and center-pivot systems.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to water pressure, flow rates, and system malfunctions.
- Conduct regular inspections of irrigation infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and prevent leaks or damage.
- Assist in the design and planning of new irrigation layouts based on crop requirements and land topography.
- Manage inventory of irrigation parts and supplies, ensuring availability for repairs and maintenance.
- Operate and maintain specialized equipment used for irrigation system installation and repair.
- Technical qualification or certification in irrigation, plumbing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with agricultural irrigation systems .
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
- Strong understanding of water management principles and hydraulics.
- Ability to work independently and troubleshoot complex technical problems.
- Experience with electronic controllers and smart irrigation technology is a plus.
