Field Telecom Technician

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated and hands-on Field Telecom Technician to serve the Rustenburg area. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment and services at various customer sites and company locations. You will be the frontline representative of our client, ensuring that customers receive reliable and high-quality telecom services. The ideal candidate is adept at troubleshooting technical issues on-site, possesses excellent customer service skills, and is comfortable working independently in diverse field environments across the North West province.

• Install, activate, and maintain customer premises equipment (CPE), including modems, routers, and set-top boxes.
• Perform diagnostic tests and troubleshoot issues related to internet, voice, and television services.
• Respond to service calls and resolve technical problems efficiently and effectively in the field.
• Educate customers on service usage, features, and basic troubleshooting steps.
• Ensure all work is completed according to company standards and safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of service calls, installations, and inventory using mobile device applications.

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications in electronics or telecommunications are a plus.
• Proven experience as a Field Technician or in a similar technical support role within the telecom industry .
• Strong understanding of network connectivity, cable installation, and basic electronic repairs.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and handheld devices for testing and configuration.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and manual dexterity for working with various equipment.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are mandatory for travel in and around Rustenburg .
