Forklift Technician

Minimum Requirements

• 4 - 5+ years' experience in a forklift environment.
• Qualified/Trade Tested Diesel Mechanic, Auto Electrician or Millwright.
• Proven forklift servicing, maintenance and repair experience.
• Experience with electric, diesel and propane/LPG forklifts
  .
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems and diagnostic equipment.
• Welding, soldering and basic fabrication skills advantageous.
• Good understanding of workplace safety requirements.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Service and maintain electric, diesel and propane/LPG forklifts in line with manufacturer specifications.
• Inspect and maintain engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment.
• Repair, rebuild or replace components including transmissions, motors, steering and hydraulic systems
  .
• Carry out welding, soldering and basic fabrication where required.
• Test repaired equipment to ensure safe and correct operation.
• Identify and order replacement parts and assist with workshop stock control.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, repair records and service histories
  .
• Report additional faults, repair requirements and safety concerns.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe work area.
• Ensure all work meets required safety, quality and manufacturer standards
  .
