About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and results-driven Mine Maintenance Supervisor to lead their maintenance team in Benoni . This critical role involves overseeing the maintenance and repair of all mining equipment, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and safety. You will manage a team of skilled technicians, coordinate planned and reactive maintenance activities, and contribute to the overall operational efficiency of the mine.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical or electrical engineering within the mining sector, coupled with excellent leadership and problem‑solving abilities. This position is essential for minimizing downtime and maximizing asset utilization.

• Supervise and mentor a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring efficient workflow and task completion.
• Plan, schedule, and execute preventative and corrective maintenance for mining machinery and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, implementing effective repair solutions.
• Manage spare parts inventory and procurement, ensuring availability of critical components.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations in maintenance activities.
• Maintain detailed maintenance records and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

• Trade Qualification (e.g., Electrician, Fitter and Turner) or National Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance supervision within a mining or heavy industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of heavy mining equipment (e.g., crushers, conveyors, drilling rigs, haul trucks).
• Proficiency in maintenance management systems (CMMS) and diagnostic tools.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
