About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Irrigation Manager to oversee the design, installation, and maintenance of all irrigation systems in Klerksdorp, North West. This role is vital for ensuring efficient water usage and optimal crop hydration across the farm. You will manage irrigation schedules, troubleshoot system issues, and explore innovative water management technologies. The position requires a blend of technical expertise in irrigation systems and strong operational management skills to support the farm's productivity in the Klerksdorp region.

• Design, implement, and manage efficient irrigation systems tailored to various crop needs.
• Oversee the daily operation and maintenance of all irrigation equipment, including pumps, pipes, and sprinklers.
• Monitor water usage, soil moisture levels, and weather patterns to optimize irrigation schedules.
• Troubleshoot and repair irrigation system malfunctions promptly to minimize disruption to crops.
• Stay updated on new irrigation technologies and water conservation techniques.
• Manage budgets for irrigation system upgrades, repairs, and operational expenses.

• Proven experience as an Irrigation Manager or in a similar role related to water management systems.
• Strong technical knowledge of different irrigation methods (e.g., drip, sprinkler, center pivot).
• Familiarity with water management principles and conservation techniques.
• Ability to operate and maintain irrigation machinery and related equipment.
• Basic understanding of crop water requirements.
• A relevant technical qualification or certification in irrigation or agricultural engineering is preferred.
