Instrumentation Technician - Energy Plants

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and skilled Instrumentation Technician to join their team in Klerksdorp. You will be responsible for the installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of instrumentation and control equipment essential for the safe and efficient operation of energy generation facilities. Your expertise will directly contribute to the reliability and accuracy of process measurements and control loops, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to safety standards.

• Install, calibrate, and maintain various instruments, including pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on instrumentation systems to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot and repair faulty instrumentation and control loop issues.
• Read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and instrument datasheets.
• Ensure all work performed complies with safety regulations, company procedures, and quality standards.
• Assist in the commissioning of new instrumentation and control systems.

• National Diploma in Instrumentation or relevant trade qualification (e.g., N3).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Instrumentation Technician , preferable in a process plant or energy facility .
• Proficiency in calibrating and maintaining various types of industrial instruments.
• Experience with DCS, PLC, and SCADA systems is advantageous.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and documentation.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
