About the Role
Our client is looking for a seasoned Automotive Technician specializing in Heavy Duty vehicles to join their workshop in Klerksdorp . This on-site role is perfect for an experienced mechanic who thrives on diagnosing and repairing complex issues in trucks, buses, and other large commercial vehicles. You will be a vital part of a team dedicated to ensuring the safety and operational readiness of fleets, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and your extensive mechanical knowledge.
This position demands a high level of skill, precision, and a commitment to quality workmanship in a demanding workshop environment. You'll contribute significantly to the reliability of commercial transport in the region.
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics, maintenance, and repair on heavy-duty diesel engines, transmissions, and drive trains.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair vehicle braking systems, suspension, and steering components.
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance services according to manufacturer specifications.
- Utilize diagnostic software and tools to identify electrical and mechanical faults in heavy vehicles.
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation for all repairs and maintenance performed.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
- Proven experience as a Heavy Duty Automotive Technician .
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical systems specific to commercial vehicles.
- Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and tools for heavy-duty applications.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and service bulletins.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record; CDL preferred.
- Trade qualification or relevant certifications are highly advantageous.
