Our client is seeking a qualified and experienced Industrial Electrician to join their plant maintenance team in Benoni. This role is vital for ensuring the reliable operation of all electrical systems and equipment within the manufacturing facility. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical infrastructure, control systems, and machinery. While this role is primarily on-site, there may be opportunities for remote support or documentation management.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of industrial electrical codes, safety standards, and diagnostic equipment, ensuring minimal disruption to production schedules. Your expertise will directly contribute to operational safety and efficiency.
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, and equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical faults in machinery, control panels, and power distribution systems.
- Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Perform preventive maintenance on electrical equipment to prevent failures.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and electrical codes (e.g., OHSA).
- Assist with the setup and commissioning of new equipment and electrical installations.
- Qualified Industrial Electrician with relevant trade certification.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in an industrial electrical maintenance role.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting AC/DC circuits, motor controls, and PLC systems.
- Knowledge of relevant electrical codes and safety standards.
- Ability to read and understand complex electrical diagrams and schematics.
