Position: Field Service Engineer - Energy Sector

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated Field Service Engineer to join their team, serving the energy sector in and around Benoni . This hands‑on role requires extensive travel to client sites to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair complex energy equipment and systems. You will be the primary technical point of contact for clients, ensuring their systems operate at peak performance.

The ideal candidate is an independent problem‑solver with excellent mechanical and electrical aptitude, a customer‑centric approach, and the ability to work effectively under pressure in diverse environments. Key Responsibilities
  • Perform on‑site installation, commissioning, and maintenance of energy generation and distribution equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control system issues for clients.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure system reliability.
  • Provide technical training and support to customer personnel.
  • Prepare detailed service reports, including findings, actions taken, and recommendations.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and ensure timely replenishment for service needs.
  • Respond to emergency service calls efficiently and effectively.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in field service or technical support, preferably within the energy sector.
  • Strong understanding of power generation equipment, control systems, and industrial machinery.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for complex electromechanical systems.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction.
