About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Mine Maintenance Supervisor to oversee maintenance operations at their facility in Klerksdorp. This hybrid role requires a hands-on approach to managing a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring the optimal performance and longevity of all mining equipment. You will play a key role in planning preventative maintenance schedules, responding to breakdowns, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and safety.
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a major mining operation, balancing on-site supervision with remote planning and reporting.
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the maintenance team, including mechanics, electricians, and technicians.
- Develop, implement, and monitor preventative maintenance programs for all mining machinery and equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical failures, ensuring timely and effective repairs.
- Manage spare parts inventory and procurement processes to minimize downtime.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain detailed maintenance records and performance metrics, reporting on key indicators.
- Trade qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in maintenance supervision within the mining industry .
- Strong knowledge of heavy mining equipment, including excavators, trucks, and processing plant machinery.
- Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) software.
- Ability to lead and motivate a technical team effectively.
- Good communication and organizational skills, with an aptitude for problem-solving.
