Plant Maintenance Technician - General

Our client is looking for a versatile and experienced Plant Maintenance Technician to support their manufacturing operations in Vereeniging . This role is critical for ensuring the ongoing functionality and reliability of production equipment and facility infrastructure. You will be involved in a wide range of mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks, troubleshooting issues, and performing preventative maintenance to minimize operational disruptions.

• Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of plant machinery and equipment.
• Conduct preventative maintenance tasks according to the established schedule to ensure equipment longevity and reduce breakdowns.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and basic electrical issues affecting production processes.
• Assist with the installation of new equipment and machinery as required.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring adherence to all safety regulations and procedures.
• Document all maintenance activities, including repairs performed and parts used, in the maintenance log.

• Proven experience as a Plant Maintenance Technician or in a similar general maintenance role.
• Solid understanding of mechanical systems, including pumps, motors, conveyors, and basic hydraulics/pneumatics.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting skills for diagnosing common plant equipment issues.
• Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals and basic schematics.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying potential maintenance needs.
