Junior Telecoms Field Technician

Our client is looking for an enthusiastic and trainable Junior Telecoms Field Technician to join their growing team in Soweto . This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of telecommunications equipment and services. You will work closely with experienced technicians, learning best practices in network deployment and customer support. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, possesses basic technical aptitude, and is committed to providing reliable service to customers.

• Assist senior technicians in the installation and configuration of telecom equipment , including modems, routers, and customer premise devices.
• Perform basic troubleshooting on internet, voice, and television services under supervision.
• Carry out routine maintenance checks on network infrastructure components.
• Document service performed and equipment status accurately for each customer visit.
• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures while on customer sites.
• Provide basic customer education on service usage and troubleshooting tips.

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications in IT or telecommunications are a plus.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts and computer hardware.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers.
• Ability to work independently after training and follow instructions meticulously.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and be comfortable working outdoors.
