Farm Equipment Technician

Our client is looking for a skilled and reliable Farm Equipment Technician to maintain and repair their agricultural machinery near Nelspruit . This role is vital for ensuring the farm's operational efficiency by keeping tractors, harvesters, irrigation systems, and other essential equipment in optimal working condition. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, experience with agricultural machinery, and a proactive approach to preventative maintenance.

You will play a key role in minimizing downtime and ensuring the smooth running of all farm operations.

• Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of farm equipment, including tractors, combines, sprayers, and irrigation systems.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on farm machinery.
• Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and service equipment to prevent breakdowns.
• Maintain an inventory of spare parts and ensure workshop tools and equipment are in good condition.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols while performing maintenance and repair tasks.
• Assist farm operators with equipment operation and basic troubleshooting when needed.

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in mechanics or agricultural equipment repair is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a mechanic, with specific experience in repairing farm machinery.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems common in agricultural equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and performing effective repairs.
