About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Field Service Engineer specializing in electrical equipment to support their operations in and around Nelspruit . This mobile role involves providing on-site technical support, performing installations, maintenance, and repairs of sophisticated electrical machinery. You will be the technical expert, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime for our clients' critical assets. This is an ideal position for an independent and resourceful engineer who enjoys direct customer interaction and problem-solving in diverse field environments.
Key Responsibilities- Perform installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical equipment at customer sites.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults, implementing timely and effective repairs.
- Provide technical support and training to customers on equipment operation and maintenance.
- Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and service calls to ensure equipment reliability.
- Prepare detailed service reports, documenting work performed, parts used, and recommendations.
- Liaise with the internal technical support team to resolve complex issues.
- Bachelor's or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
- 3-5 years of experience in a field service or technical support role, preferably with industrial electrical equipment.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, instrumentation, and control systems.
- Excellent diagnostic skills and the ability to work autonomously in various field settings.
- Proficiency with test equipment and diagnostic tools.
- Valid driver's license and a willingness to travel extensively within the region.
