Junior Telecom Installation Technician

Our client is seeking enthusiastic Junior Telecom Installation Technicians to join their team in Benoni, Gauteng
. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals starting their careers in the telecommunications industry to gain hands-on experience in installing and commissioning various telecommunication systems. You will work under the guidance of experienced technicians to perform installations of voice, data, and broadband equipment for residential and business customers. A strong willingness to learn, good manual dexterity, and a commitment to providing excellent service are essential for this role.

The position requires travel to customer sites within the Benoni and surrounding Gauteng areas, making it an active, field-based role.

• Assist in the installation and setup of telecommunication equipment, including routers, modems, set-top boxes, and associated cabling.
• Perform basic configuration of devices according to installation guidelines.
• Test installed equipment to ensure proper functionality and service activation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve minor installation-related issues.
• Provide basic customer support and education on installed services.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure tools and equipment are well-maintained.
• Adhere to safety protocols and company procedures during all installations.
• Complete installation reports and submit them in a timely manner.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in a technical or field service role is advantageous but not essential.
• Basic understanding of telecommunications concepts and networking principles is a plus.
• Good manual dexterity and ability to work with tools.
• Strong customer service orientation and good communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.
• Physical ability to lift equipment, climb ladders, and work in various environmental conditions.
• A valid driver s license and a reliable mode of transport (or willingness to obtain one).
• Eagerness to learn and develop technical skills in the telecommunications field.
