Job Description

We are currently recruiting on behalf of an established and growing fire & Security business for an experienced Small Works Engineer to join their team.

The role will predominantly involve small electrical works, emergency lighting installations and replacements, and the installation/replacement of fused spurs , with the opportunity to work on a variety of commercial projects. You will be expected to travel to sites within London/M25

The ideal candidate will be a skilled and reliable electrician who is comfortable working independently and representing the company professionally when working on client sites.

• Installation, replacement and maintenance of emergency lighting systems
• Installation and replacement of fused spurs
• Carrying out general electrical small works
• Electrical fault finding and basic diagnostics
• Testing and inspection of completed works
• Completing relevant paperwork and job sheets accurately
• Identifying additional works and reporting requirements to management
• Working to current electrical regulations and company standards
• Liaising professionally with clients and site contacts
• Maintaining a high standard of health & safety at all times
• Travelling to various commercial sites as required

Ideally, you will have experience with:

• Emergency lighting installation, replacement and testing
• Fused spurs and general small electrical works
• Commercial electrical installations
• Fault finding
• Fire alarm systems installation, maintenance or basic fault finding would be highly advantageous
• Working independently across multiple client sites

• Qualified electrician with relevant electrical qualifications
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
• ECS Gold Card
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Previous experience within a commercial electrical environment
• Good understanding of electrical health & safety requirements
• Professional approach and good communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload
