About The Role

The Children's Contact/Family Time Supervisor and Facilitator is responsible for the efficient, effective and safe support to children to remain connected with their family and those who are important to them. It ensures that children who are in our care are able to spend positive time with those people who are important to them in a safe supervised or facilitated manner.

Under the direction of the Team Manager, your role will enable positive time to be spent between children and those with whom it is agreed that they should remain connected since entering care. You will offer positive modelling, provide advice and support during sessions and may need to intervene or challenge in a positive and respectful manner to ensure that time with connected people is a child‑focused experience.

You will build meaningful relationships with children, their parents and naturally connected people to assist with quality contact and support, working alongside the social worker on plans for reunification. You may also be required to support children and work alongside other professionals in the service, providing transport and support as part of a child's care plan to prevent placement breakdown.

The service delivers flexible family time by operating within an extended hours model. The ability to work flexible hours and in flexible locations is required to meet the needs of young people engaged in this service.
