We invite you to join the world of luxury hospitality at Fairmont Southampton as our new Valet Attendant. The Valet Attendant reports to the Executive Housekeeper and is responsible for delivering exceptional laundry, dry-cleaning, and uniform services for Fairmont Southampton’s guests and colleagues. This role ensures that all garments including guest clothing and staff uniforms are handled with the utmost care, processed efficiently, and returned in impeccable condition, reflecting Fairmont’s luxury service standards.

The Valet Attendant plays a key part in supporting both the guest experience and operational excellence through precision, consistency, and heartfelt service.

Key Responsibilities

Garment Care & Processing

• Sort, inspect, and document guest garments and colleague uniforms, identifying fabric types, stains, special instructions, and required treatments.
• Operate laundry and dry-cleaning equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and departmental procedures.
• Apply appropriate cleaning, stain removal, pressing, steaming, and finishing techniques to ensure all items meet luxury hospitality standards.
• Maintain the quality and integrity of all garments by ensuring proper handling and care throughout the cleaning process.

Guest & Colleague Service

• Provide prompt, courteous, and professional service to guests and colleagues at all times.
• Communicate effectively regarding garment care requirements, special requests, service timelines, and collection or delivery arrangements.
• Ensure guest laundry and dry-cleaning items are processed accurately and returned within established service standards.
• Support a positive and seamless guest experience by anticipating needs and responding to requests in a timely manner.

Uniform & Inventory Management

• Assist with the distribution, collection, and tracking of colleague uniforms.
• Ensure uniforms are maintained in excellent condition and available to support operational needs.
• Monitor supplies and report inventory shortages or replenishment requirements to leadership.
• Report damaged garments, missing items, or discrepancies promptly and follow established procedures for resolution.

Operational Excellence & Quality Assurance

• Ensure all garments are properly tagged, labelled, packaged, and delivered accurately.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to laundry, dry-cleaning, and uniform services.
• Adhere to Fairmont brand standards, departmental procedures, and quality control measures.
• Identify and report equipment malfunctions or operational concerns to management in a timely manner.

Health, Safety & Housekeeping

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment within the valet, laundry, and dry-cleaning areas.
• Comply with all health, safety, environmental, and chemical handling requirements.
• Follow proper equipment operating procedures and use personal protective equipment as required.
• Support sustainability initiatives and responsible resource management practices.
• Work collaboratively with Housekeeping, Laundry, and other hotel departments to ensure seamless operations.
• Assist team members during peak operational periods and support departmental objectives.
