Overview

We are currently seeking experienced External Boat Builders to join a leading marine engineering environment, working on high-quality vessels built for global use. This role would suit individuals with a strong eye for detail, who take pride in delivering precision work and enjoy being part of a multi-skilled team.

You will play a key role in ensuring vessels are completed to schedule, taking responsibility for the installation and assembly of various external components to a high standard.

• Reading and interpreting technical drawings
• Assembly of steering systems
• Keel fittings
• Installation of skin fittings
• Deck gear and teak deck installation
• Installation of windows, portlights and hatches
• Drive chain propulsion system assembly
• Shaft fitting
• Lazarette fit-out
• Fitting of various fibreglass components
• Levelling boats
• Carrying out basic laminating tasks

• Relevant City & Guilds (C&G) qualification or equivalent
• Ideally a minimum of 2 years’ experience within the marine industry
• Experience working with timber and/or GRP vessels
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship
• Ability to work to deadlines and as part of a team
