Duties of a HGV Technician:

  • Conduct maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a range of heavy goods vehicles
  • Perform electronic vehicle health checks (eVHCs) in line with company standards
  • Carry out warranty work alongside routine servicing tasks
  • Complete accurate digital job cards and work reports for all tasks undertaken
  • Follow health and safety procedures maintaining high standards of quality and safety
  • Collaborate efficiently within a workshop team to ensure work is completed to the highest standard

Requirements of a HGV Technician:

  • Recognised Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
  • Demonstrable experience as an HGV Technician, Plant Mechanic, or LCV Technician
  • Full UK driving licence with the ability to work on heavy vehicles
  • MOT licence is desirable but not essential; training is available if needed
  • Strong team player with excellent attention to detail
  • Flexible approach to working hours and shifts
  • Eagerness to learn, develop, and progress within a reputable workshop environment
