TEMP-TO-PERM ROLE
OverviewWe are currently seeking an experienced Plasterer to join a busy social housing maintenance team working across properties in South Hampshire. This is a long-term temporary position carrying out occupied planned works (Kitchens and Bathrooms), and general maintenance within occupied properties.
The ideal candidate will be a strong Plasterer with reliable skills and the ability to work independently, delivering high-quality repairs to a good standard.
Key Responsibilities- Completing minor patch work through to full board and skim, renewals and installations in occupied properties
- You could also be undertaking multi-trade works including:
- Tiling (splashbacks)
- Painting & decorating
- General domestic repairs
- Working towards a first-time fix wherever possible
- Planning and managing your own daily workload to meet contract SLAs
- Logging works accurately on a PDA and completing daily job sheets
- Ensuring all work meets high standards of safety and quality
- Providing a professional, respectful service to tenants
- Reporting any additional or follow-on works required
- Maintaining van stock, equipment and materials
- Working independently or as part of a team when required
- Experience working in occupied residential settings
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Full UK Driving Licence (max 6 points)
- Ability to work independently across a dispersed housing patch
- Previous social housing repairs experience
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Plastering or time-served equivalent
- Experience using a PDA
- Understanding of responsive repairs and maintenance environments
- Knowledge of SOR codes
- Competitive hourly rate of £22 - £25 per hour
- 12-week temporary assignment with the potential for a permanent role
- Company van and fuel card provided
- Work across a dedicated local Birmingham patch - no long travel

To achieve the upper pay bracket you must show good experience of working on social housing repair contracts.
The advertised rates are based on working CIS but a PAYE and holiday payment method and rate can be discussed, but this will mean a slight reduction in the advertised headline rate.
