Location: Hedge End / Southampton Area

Salary: Up to £40,000 per year (Fixed basic)

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday (08:00 – 17:00) –
NO Weekends or Bank Holidays!

Are you an experienced MOT Tester / Vehicle Technician who prides themselves on accuracy and quality workmanship rather than just churning through tests?

We are recruiting for a busy, well-regarded local garage in the Hedge End / Southampton area that offers main‑dealer quality servicing and MOT work. We provide the stability, flexibility, and friendly, supportive culture that only an independent workshop can offer—with zero weekend shifts and extra time off over Christmas!

• Secure Pay: Up to £40,000 per year basic salary
• 100% Weekend-Free: Monday to Friday ONLY (08:00 – 17:00)—NO Saturdays, Sundays, or Bank Holidays
• Generous Leave Package: 22 days holiday PLUS additional paid days off during the Christmas/New Year shutdown (extra 3–4 days free)

• Performing official Class 4 MOT tests to strict DVSA standards alongside pre‑MOT inspections
• Balancing testing duties with vehicle servicing, routine maintenance, and mechanical repairs
• Diagnosing faults accurately and performing the necessary repairs and adjustments for MOT compliance
• Recording inspection results thoroughly and maintaining high standards of workshop safety
• Interacting with customers where needed to provide clear, friendly, and solution‑focused feedback

• MOT Badge: Active and valid DVSA MOT Testing Licence (Essential)
• Experience: Proven workshop experience as a Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester
• Skills: Detailed inspection capabilities, solid mechanical repair skills, and a quality‑first mindset
• Licence: Valid full UK Driving Licence
• Mindset: Dependable, customer‑focused, and proud of delivering "fixed-first-time" work
