Omega Foundation Services, Inc is looking for Hydro Excavation Project Coordinator(s) to join the team!

Job Summary

The Hydro Excavation Project Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supporting hydro excavation projects from initiation through completion. This role ensures projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and applicable regulations. The Project Coordinator serves as the primary liaison between field crews, customers, subcontractors, and management to ensure efficient communication and successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate daily hydro excavation projects, schedules, equipment, and personnel.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers before, during, and after project execution.
  • Prepare project documentation including work orders, estimates, change orders, purchase orders, and project closeout packages.
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, labor hours, and equipment utilization.
  • Schedule crews, hydro excavation trucks, support equipment, and subcontractors as needed.
  • Coordinate utility locates, permits, traffic control, and site access requirements.
  • Ensure all projects comply with OSHA regulations, environmental requirements, and company safety standards.
  • Track project costs and assist with invoicing and billing documentation.
  • Conduct project kickoff meetings and maintain communication with field supervisors regarding schedule changes and project updates.
  • Resolve customer concerns and operational issues quickly and professionally.
  • Maintain accurate project records using company software and reporting systems.
  • Support estimating and business development by providing project documentation and historical cost information.
  • Participate in safety meetings, project reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with emergency response scheduling and after-hours project coordination when required.
Qualifications Education
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent industry experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
Experience
  • 3–5 years of experience in construction, utility services, hydro excavation, civil construction, underground utilities, or related industries.
  • Previous experience coordinating field operations or managing projects preferred. Required Skills
    • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Knowledge of hydro excavation operations and underground utility practices.
    • Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
    • Experience with project management software (e.g., Procore, Viewpoint, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms).
    • Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
    • Ability to read construction drawings and utility maps.
    • Understanding of budgeting, scheduling, and project cost tracking.
    • Strong customer service and relationship management skills.
    Safety & Compliance
    • Promote and enforce company safety policies.
    • Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and local regulations.
    • Coordinate pre‑job safety planning and daily job hazard assessments.
    • Support incident investigations and corrective actions when necessary.
    Physical Requirements
    • Ability to visit active construction sites.
    • Ability to walk uneven terrain and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
    • Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Preferred Certifications
      • OSHA 30‑Hour Construction Safety
      • First Aid/CPR Certification
      • Project Management Professional (PMP) (preferred but not required)
      • DOT compliance knowledge
      • Utility damage prevention or excavation safety training
