Safety Engineer

Higher education (University degree or higher) in HSE sphere and not less than 3 years of work experience as Safety Engineer.

• Coordinate all activities related to management of corporate Safety and Environment (S&E) Management System (MS) documentation, including development, update and roll out of documentation;
• Act as focal point for S&E MS documentation control, including liaison with KPO document control department, document owners, responsible and accountable parties;
• Ensure that corporate S&E documentation is managed per established process and requirements. Seek opportunities to improve the process, as well as individual standards and procedures;
• Coordinate development and review of S&E MS documentation in accordance with the KPO document management policy requirements;
• Ensure that documents are managed in accordance with KPO document control policies and procedures;
• Liaise with KPO training department and responsible parties for the procedures for development of KPO training materials on the procedures;
• Keep up-to-date with the latest safety standards, regulations and guidelines to ensure that the workplace remains in compliance with relevant standards, laws and regulations;
• Participate in effectiveness reviews of implementation of standards and procedures in the field;
• Collaborate with other departments and contractor companies to ensure that they have access to most recent standards and procedures;
• Coordinate development of Safety Improvement Plan, Safety Policies, Standards, Procedures and Guidelines and ensure they meet best industry practice, Operator and RoK requirements and are practicable for implementation;
• Seek and implement opportunities for improving efficiency and effectiveness of departmental and functional processes and activities;
• Ensure that content of the standards and procedures meet regulatory requirements and best industry practice;
• Perform roll out of standards and procedures to KPO and contractor companies;
• Seek most recent developments in safety practice and ensure KPO Safety standards and procedures remain up to date with best industry practices;
• Coordinate review process of standards and procedures;
• Support implementation of S&E initiatives such as Safety Culture and behavioral safety program, S&E MS documentation improvement, S&E alerts and learnings cascade;
• Perform regular reviews of S&E MS documentation process and develop improvement plan of actions. Implement assigned actions to high standards and in timely manner;
• Perform tasks assigned by line manager that are necessary to ensure delivery of safety programs and meeting Goal Zero objective of the company.

• Intermediate (B1) English level is an advantage in this role;
• Intermediate (B1) Kazakh level is an advantage in this role;
• Working knowledge of HSE topics / vocabulary;
• The principles of international oil field practices in safety management;
• Company organisation structure;
