This position is with the MS Forestry Commission and is responsible for Area 36, which consists of Claiborne, Copiah, and Jefferson Counties. Incumbent will report to the Area Forester over Area 36. This is a first-level vocational Forestry position accountable for protecting, reforesting, and inventorying timberlands in accordance with Mississippi Forestry Commission regulations on private and public lands. Jobs at this level collaborate with federal agencies on forest land designations and critical area layouts and contact landowners giving advice on proper forestry management practices such as tree planting, timber stand improvement, and establishment of fire lanes.
May be responsible for assisting a forest fire suppression crew.

Typically requires as associate’s degree and 0-2 years of experience. Hiring agency preferred qualifications:
New Hires must either have their Commercial Driver's License or obtain a CDL within the first year of employment and pass a fitness test (Pack) within 90 days of employment.
