Job Summary

Woodland Recovery is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Health Technician to join our team and support our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP). The Medical Health Technician will play a vital role in assisting healthcare professionals, monitoring client health, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment for individuals recovering from mental health and substance use disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist medical and clinical staff with patient assessments, vital sign monitoring, and medication administration (as per licensure and regulations).
  • Observe and report patient behavior, symptoms, and progress to the appropriate medical personnel.
  • Support clients in their daily routines, ensuring adherence to program guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and documentation.
  • Provide crisis intervention and de‑escalation support when necessary.
  • Ensure a safe and clean environment by following infection control and safety protocols.
  • Educate and support clients regarding treatment plans, medication adherence, and coping strategies.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient care and program effectiveness.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in a healthcare‑related field preferred.
  • Must be a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA).
  • Previous experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, or medical settings is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to provide compassionate care.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and medical documentation.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
  • Must pass background checks and meet state/federal compliance requirements.
