A Pipefitter Helper will assist the Journeyman Pipefitter to fabricate pipe. Also, is able to identify and assist in the installation of above/underground piping, hangers, supports, valves, and heavy wall specialties.
Level IV:
Competent to complete Journeyman level Pipe Fitter tasks with minimal supervision.
- Assists Journeyman by performing the simpler and more routine duties of the craft.
- Follow detailed instructions on new work assignments.
- Closely reviews work while tasks are being learned.
- Assist with laying out, fabricates, assembles, installs and maintains piping systems, pipe supports, fixtures, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for steam, hot water fixtures and equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling and production and processing systems.

- Responsible for refusing unsafe work and for carrying out all work by the established Yates Safety Procedures and Work Practices

- Participate in workplace inspections.
- Comply with statutory requirements, including duty of care.
- Participate in required and assigned training.
- Provide suggestions to improve Safety.
Present a mature approach to working safely. - Attend prestart and Safety meetings and contribute.
- Other related duties as needed and assigned by Field Supervision.

Level IV:
- Thirty-six (36) + months of heavy industrial-related pipe fitting experience
- Other verified experiences or certifications with pipe fitting experience
Level III:
- Twenty-four (24) to thirty-five (35) months of heavy industrial-related pipe fitting experience
Level II:
- Twelve (12) to twenty-three (23) months of heavy industrial-related pipe fitting experience
Level I:
- Zero (0) to eleven (11) months of heavy industrial-related pipe fitting experience
- One (1) year of industrial experience
- Must have the ability to read and interpret instructions and documentation
- Personal hand tools required for craft as established on the Yates Industrial Minimum Tool List
- Successful completion of required Safety training to include, but not limited to, Confined Space, LOTO, and Working at Heights

Physical requirements for this role may include but are not limited to:
- All weather conditions at varying temperatures

The project site will contain light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment, and tools - Ability to hear bells, whistles, and alarms
- Required to wear safety-approved body harnesses when working at 4’ or above
- Required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, climbing, and lifting
- Ability to talk and hear to communicate
- Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull objects, materials, controls, and tools
- Must be able to lift, carry, and move heavy objects up to 25 lbs.
- Will use vision abilities to focus, see short and long distances, colors, depth perception, and peripheral vision
