* Job Description:

**** Essential duties:
*** Performs job duties in accordance with MSHA law and regulations, established company safety procedures, state, and federal environmental regulations.
* Performs electrical inspections on all in-service mining equipment and record repairs and findings into federal inspection book
* Maintains & repairs low, medium, and high voltage electrical circuits.
* Installs/removes power cable from high voltage mining circuits.
* Performs troubleshooting on AC and DC circuits.
* Repairs, maintains, and troubleshoots DC motor and generator circuits on mining equipment.
* Operates mining support equipment.
** Other duties:
*** Operates the equipment to diagnose problems and to test after repair.
* Operates light vehicles to travel throughout the mine site.  Maintains work area in a safe and clean manner.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

* Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

*** Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and instructions, and electrical prints and schematics.
* Knowledge of National Electric Code, MSHA regulations.
* Knowledge of basic electrical theory.
* Knowledge of high voltage switch gear and be able to safely operate it.
* Knowledge of basic electrical test instruments.
* Knowledge of PLCs and Variable Frequency Drives.
* Obtain MSHA Electrical Certification becoming a Qualified Person – able to perform electrical work in a mine after 1 year of work experience.
* Communicate and work well with co-workers, supervision, and management.
** Required Education and Training:
*** Electrical technical training at a vocational school or an electrician apprenticeship
* Possess MSHA Electrical Certification or be able to obtain it within the required time.
