Description
The individual in this role is responsible for performing various responsibilities related to the maintenance and repair of both the interior and exterior of the company premises.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Manage and perform repairs on warehouse racking systems.
- Change light bulbs, including ballasts, as needed.
- Maintain and oversee the repair process for forklift equipment.
- Ensure proper maintenance and repairs of restrooms, including fixing clogged toilets and broken seats.
- Clean facilities using floor sweepers and maintain compactors.
- Paint and fill gaps or crevices on walls, sidewalks, and other surfaces.
- Assist with light installations of appliances and equipment.
- Repair equipment and appliances as necessary.
- Provide assistance to tradespeople during electrical, plumbing, or HVAC repairs.
- Carry out assigned duties and respond to emergency tasks, such as snow shoveling.
- Identify and report the need for major repairs.
- Safely and efficiently, manage the maintenance cage and all maintenance supplies.
- Inspect control panels and electrical wiring to identify any issues and report them accordingly.
- Participate in a collaborative work environment utilizing effective communication and willingness to cross train to enhance team productivity, versatility, and skill development.
- Comply with comprehensive safety protocols and participate in ongoing training to ensure a secure work environment and maintain a safety‑conscious culture.
- Follow all 5S principles and guidelines daily to optimize workflow, efficiency, and a clean work environment.
- Undertakes additional responsibilities and tasks as directed by management.
- Preferred:
High School Diploma or an equivalent qualification; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. - Experience operating Material Handling Equipment – Reach Truck, Sit Down, Order Picker, Pallet Rider, Scissor Lift, etc.
- Skilled in working with hardware tools and electrical equipment.
- Computer Skills – Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Demonstrates strong problem‑solving abilities.
- Capable of following instructions and responding to management direction.
- Detail‑oriented and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Exhibits experience working collaboratively in a team environment.
- Has the ability to read and interpret various documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Possesses effective verbal communication skills.
