Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Electrician in Southaven, MS. Leapros Skilled Trades is actively seeking an experienced Medium Voltage Electrician for a contract role supporting the rapid build-out of hyperscale data center facilities in Southaven, MS. This is a traveling construction and commissioning role requiring 80% or more mobility across active project sites, with per diem and housing provided while on site.

The ideal candidate brings five or more years of hands-on medium-voltage electrical construction experience at 5 kV and above, documented 15 kV and/or 35 kV terminations, and a thorough working knowledge of NFPA 70E, OSHA , medium-voltage switching and clearance procedures, and arc-flash protocols.

• Travel with internal construction and electrical teams to active data center project sites and mobilize quickly between locations as construction phases and priorities shift.
• Install, pull, rack, land, and terminate 15 kV and 35 kV cable using manufacturer-approved stress cones and termination methods.
• Install e-house medium-voltage switch gear, generator step-up transformers, medium-voltage duct bank, manholes, and raceway for 12.47 kV, 13.8 kV, and 34.5 kV circuits.
• Install and connect associated control wiring for medium-voltage systems and equipment.
• Support hipot, VLF, and insulation-resistance testing of new medium-voltage cable and gear by preparing, isolating, grounding, and standing the work alongside commissioning teams.
• Work adjacent to live campus medium-voltage buses under established switching orders, clearances, and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Read and interpret medium-voltage one-lines, physical drawings, cable schedules, and termination drawings; produce accurate as-builts and test records.
• Ensure strict compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA , and all applicable safety and quality standards including arc-flash protocols.
• Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and operations teams to deliver projects on schedule with zero incidents.
• Participate in constructability reviews and provide field feedback to support design improvements.

• Five or more years of hands-on electrical construction experience at 5 kV and above in industrial, data center, utility, or generation environments; experience solely at 480 V does not meet this requirement.
• Documented 15 kV and/or 35 kV terminations via termination logs, QC packages, or manufacturer terminator qualification cards.
• Demonstrated experience installing or landing medium-voltage switch gear, transformers or GSUs, and medium-voltage cable  kV, 13.8 kV, and/or 34.5 kV.
• Ability to read and interpret medium-voltage one-lines, cable schedules, and termination drawings.
• Working knowledge of NFPA 70E, lockout/tagout, medium-voltage switching and clearance procedures, and OSHA .
• Ability and willingness to travel 80% or more on a construction rotation, with per diem and housing provided while on site.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts on AM or PM rotation as assigned.
• Manufacturer terminator qualification cards for 15 kV and/or 35 kV are strongly preferred.
• Data center or industrial campus medium-voltage construction experience, including e-house switch gear and work adjacent to live 15 kV or 35 kV buses, is preferred.
• State journeyman electrician license, or lineman/substation qualification, is preferred;
  Tennessee and/or Mississippi licensure is a plus.

• Ability to stand for up to 6 hours per day, sit for up to 3 hours per day, and walk for up to 3 hours per day.
• Ability to push and pull up to 75 lbs unassisted and lift and carry up to 50 lbs unassisted.
• Ability to reach overhead and work in cramped or confined positions including e-house, duct banks, and manholes.
• Ability to climb ladders and work on aerial lifts at elevated heights.
• Ability to work in environments with exposure to fumes, odors, noise, heat, cold, and rain.
• Must be able to use hands to handle, control, and feel objects, tools, and controls.
• Must be able to wear and work in required PPE in industrial environments.
