What You Will DoWe are seeking a certified Forklift Operator who will safely operate forklift equipment while transporting material and perform pre‑equipment inspections. The role may require manual loading and unloading of material with or without a pallet jack and may involve assisting in other departments such as shipping and inventory as business needs dictate.
Responsibilities- Move, control, and operate industrial forklifts to transport materials between receiving, storage, service, and shipping areas.
- Organize and secure materials where balance sacks, pallets, and other materials are stored.
- Perform routine pre‑inspection on equipment to ensure it is working properly.
- Manually load or unload material from pallets, skids, platforms, or lifting devices.
- Receive inventory when required, responsible for receipt of daily inbound and return items.
- Ensure accuracy of items to confirm all items received or returned are in satisfactory condition.
- Consult with and work with managers, supervisors, employees, and vendors to coordinate loading and unloading operations.
- Compile and maintain quantity, type, and value of material, merchandise, or supplies stocked in inventory.
- Count material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies in stock and post totals to inventory manually or using computer.
- Demonstrate responsibility and compliance with all safety and quality policies and standards.
- Assiste other departments as needed.
- Minimum 3 to 6 months’ experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- At least 1 year experience driving a forklift and have or be able to obtain a forklift license.
- Detail‑oriented and able to accurately read purchase orders, packing lists, and/or assimilate verbal work instructions.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Demonstrated organizational ability and follow‑through.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to work harmoniously in a team as well as autonomously.
- Basic Excel experience and comfort communicating verbally and via email.
