Position Summary

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Commercial Lines New Business & Remarket Placement Specialist with strong account management skills. This role is responsible for marketing, quoting, and placing new and renewal commercial business, as well as providing ongoing account management support to ensure exceptional service, retention, and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate is proactive, efficient, and thrives in a fast-paced agency environment.

Key Responsibilities New Business Marketing & Placement
  • Market and place new commercial insurance accounts with multiple carriers.
  • Review submissions for accuracy, completeness, and underwriting acceptability.
  • Prepare and submit applications and supporting documentation to carriers.
  • Negotiate pricing, coverage, and terms with underwriters.
  • Analyze quotes and prepare clear, competitive proposals for clients.
  • Work closely with producers to develop marketing strategies and placement solutions.
  • Bind coverage, issue binders, and coordinate policy issuance.
Remarketing & Renewal Placement
  • Proactively remarket renewal accounts as needed to improve pricing, coverage, and terms.
  • Review renewal policies for accuracy, coverage adequacy, and competitiveness.
  • Identify cross-sell and coverage enhancement opportunities.
  • Negotiate renewal terms with carriers.
  • Prepare renewal proposals and recommendations for clients.
Account Management & Client Service
  • Serve as a back-up service contact for account managers.
  • Serve as a back-up for day-to-day account servicing including endorsements, certificates, audits, billing inquiries, and coverage questions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, carriers, and internal team members.
  • Ensure timely processing of all policy transactions.
  • Maintain accurate and complete client records in the agency management system.
  • Provide prompt, professional responses to client inquiries.
  • Support retention efforts through proactive communication and service excellence.
Compliance & Quality Control
  • Ensure compliance with agency procedures, carrier guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and file management.
  • Assist with E&O risk management by ensuring accuracy and thorough documentation.
Qualifications & Skills
  • 3+ years of experience in commercial lines insurance (placement, marketing, or account management).
  • Strong knowledge of commercial insurance coverages, forms, and underwriting guidelines.
  • Property & Casualty Producer License (or ability to obtain).
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency with agency management systems (Applied Epic, AMS
    360, or similar preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in an independent insurance agency environment.
  • Experience handling mid-market and small commercial accounts.
  • CISR, CIC, or other industry designation (preferred but not required).
