Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to support a precision machining operation producing complex parts with tight tolerances. This position will be responsible for developing, troubleshooting, and optimizing CNC programs for both milling and turning equipment.

The ideal candidate combines strong Mastercam programming experience with practical shop-floor knowledge. This person should be comfortable working from prints and 3D models, selecting tooling, supporting setups, and collaborating directly with machinists to improve quality, efficiency, and cycle times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and modify CNC programs for mills and lathes using Mastercam
  • Develop programs from engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and 3D models
  • Determine machining sequences, tooling requirements, speeds, feeds, and work holding strategies
  • Support machine setups, prove-outs, first-piece runs, and production launches
  • Program complex geometries and tight-tolerance components
  • Troubleshoot programming, tooling, setup, and machining issues on the shop floor
  • Optimize existing programs to reduce cycle times, improve tool life, and increase overall efficiency
  • Collaborate with machinists, manufacturing engineers, quality personnel, and production leadership
  • Review completed parts and make programming adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy
  • Maintain organized program files, setup documentation, tooling information, and revision controls
  • Identify opportunities to improve machining processes, reduce scrap, and increase throughput
Qualifications
  • Experience programming CNC mills and lathes in a precision machining environment
  • Strong hands-on experience with Mastercam
  • Ability to program from prints, blueprints, and 3D CAD models
  • Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, fixturing, speeds, and feeds
  • Experience producing complex parts with tight tolerances
  • Ability to read and interpret GD&T, engineering drawings, and technical specifications
  • Experience supporting CNC setups and program prove-outs
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with machinists and shop-floor teams
  • Experience with cycle-time reduction and process optimization
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with multi-axis machining, live tooling, or complex turning applications
  • Familiarity with inspection methods and precision measuring equipment
  • Experience working with a variety of metals, alloys, and engineered materials
  • Knowledge of CAD software and manufacturing process planning
  • Experience in aerospace, medical device, defense, automotive, or other high-precision manufacturing environments
Why Join Us

This is an opportunity to take ownership of CNC programming in a hands-on manufacturing environment where your work will directly influence quality, productivity, and shop performance. You will work closely with experienced machinists and engineering teams while programming complex components and improving machining processes.

We offer a collaborative environment, challenging work, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on how parts are programmed and produced.
