As part of a large continuum of behavioral health services, this role focuses on providing treatment to children, adolescents, and their families across a broad spectrum of mental health needs. The Outpatient Nurse Practitioner will work within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team that includes psychiatrists, advanced practice nurses, and therapists.

Provider Responsibilities

Conduct psychiatric evaluations and provide medication management
Partner closely with families, schools, and care teams to support patient outcomes
Participate in regular case reviews and team collaboration
Work under the supervision of a psychiatrist in a highly integrated care model
Have opportunities to engage across multiple clinical settings

Major Responsibilities

Ability to establish working relationships with other human service providers

Fully prepared to present a patient care case in court

Conduct mental health evaluations on all medical floors/ emergency care centers as needed, and provide appropriate care interventions

Works with the treatment team to analyze and interpret observations of patient's behavior with information gathered about patient

Position Qualifications License/Certification/Education

Graduation from an accredited graduate program in psychiatric nursing

Massachusetts censure as an advanced practice nurse

Board certified as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Association and recognized to practice in an expanded role by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing

Experience/Skills

Minimum of three years advanced clinical practice in psychiatric nursing.
