As part of a large continuum of behavioral health services, this role focuses on providing treatment to children, adolescents, and their families across a broad spectrum of mental health needs. The Outpatient Nurse Practitioner will work within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team that includes psychiatrists, advanced practice nurses, and therapists.

Provider Responsibilities
  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations and provide medication management
  • Partner closely with families, schools, and care teams to support patient outcomes
  • Participate in regular case reviews and team collaboration
  • Work under the supervision of a psychiatrist in a highly integrated care model
  • Have opportunities to engage across multiple clinical settings

Major Responsibilities
  • Ability to establish working relationships with other human service providers
  • Fully prepared to present a patient care case in court
  • Conduct mental health evaluations on all medical floors/ emergency care centers as needed, and provide appropriate care interventions
  • Works with the treatment team to analyze and interpret observations of patient's behavior with information gathered about patient

    Position Qualifications License/Certification/Education
  • Graduation from an accredited graduate program in psychiatric nursing
  • Massachusetts censure as an advanced practice nurse
  • Board certified as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Association and recognized to practice in an expanded role by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing
  • Experience/Skills
  • Minimum of three years advanced clinical practice in psychiatric nursing.
