Job DescriptionProvide security for the safety and protection of hospital patients, staff, general public, and property. Patrol buildings and grounds of the hospital. Examine doors, windows, and other points of entry to ensure they are secure. Tag and record all points of entry found unlocked or unsecured. Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles, and apprehend or expel persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts, in accordance with applicable laws.
Watch for and report irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked. Observe departing personnel to guard against theft of hospital property. Record data such as property damage, unusual occurrences, and other acts of suspicious instances. Record all incidents in writing or electronic media. Assist local authorities with investigation of incidents committed on hospital properties.
Report all criminal acts to the appropriate security leadership and/or local authorities. Assist hospital staff as required, providing protection and safety to patients or other individuals. Adhere to all general orders and/or special orders as directed.
