Seasonal, full‑time (70 hours biweekly). The position is expected to end no later than October 15, 2026

- Minimum age of 18 years as of May 16, 2026.
- Ability to work the full season and complete all required DDS training.
- Valid Red Cross Waterfront Lifeguard certification, including CPR (Professional Rescuer) and First Aid.
- Valid motor vehicle license.
- Ability to perform emergency first aid as needed.
- All certifications must remain valid throughout the entire work period.
- Successful completion of a pre‑employment physical exam.
- Implement program policies and procedures designed for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
- Assist and instruct individuals in activities of daily living and therapeutic program participation.
- Guide individuals in developing personal habits, hygiene, and social relationships.
- Execute individual program plans.
- Prepare, serve, and feed meals.
- Maintain housekeeping duties to ensure a clean and healthy environment.
- Participate in social and recreational activities.
- Reinforce appropriate behaviors through modification techniques.
- May administer selected oral medications with proper training.
- Perform related duties as required.
Experience and/or training that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this role.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience working or volunteering with people with disabilities.
- Experience working in a camp, park, or other recreational setting.
- Possession and maintenance of Medication Certification if required by location.
- Potential bilingual or ASL fluency.
- May require a valid Connecticut Motor Vehicle Operator's License, Public Passenger Endorsement, or Commercial Driver's License for specific positions.
- May require travel.
Physical and emotional health necessary to perform duties efficiently; a physical examination may be required.
Working ConditionsIncumbents may lift and restrain individuals, be exposed to communicable diseases, risk of injury from assaultive individuals, and other potentially disagreeable conditions.
