Pomperaug Woods is recruiting for a hospitality focused LPN to join our team!

Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of a LPN
  • Provides care to residents according to each resident’s individualized plan of care and according to facility policies and procedures.
  • Performs professional nursing services, which include resident assessment, vital signs, administering all medications and treatments as ordered.
  • Makes rounds on a regular basis during shift to assess resident medications and monitor/direct nursing assistants to ensure quality care.
  • Assists in direct resident care as necessary.
  • Maintains accurate documentation of medication administered and care rendered.
  • Assigns/directs nursing assistants to specific jobs to ensure quality resident care/health center standards are met.
  • Attends in-service training sessions to maintain knowledge of current nursing practices.
  • Communicates with charge nurse any unusual observations, emergency care, family concerns, or change in orders that affect quality resident care.
  • Communicates with resident, family, peers, and ancillary staff as necessary to promote quality care.
  • Models and promotes Pomperaug Woods CARES by maintaining a homelike environment providing individualized care and services.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Active CT L.P.N. license
  • Must read, write and speak English fluently
  • Experience with EMR preferred
  • Prior long term care background helpful but not required
