- Are at least 18 years old by May 2, 2025
- Can commit to the full season
- Hold a valid driver’s license and can safely use maintenance equipment
- Are physically prepared to work outdoors in all kinds of weather
- Have the strength, flexibility, and endurance for hands‑on tasks
- Enjoy working around a wide variety of people, including staff and campers
- Are committed to completing training and passing a pre‑employment physical
Any experience and training which provide the knowledge, skills and abilities listed above.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience operating a wide variety of grounds maintenance machinery and equipment (commercial mowers, tractors, string trimmers, blowers, etc.)
- Previous maintenance and grounds‑keeping experience
- Previous basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry experience
- Experience working with or volunteering with people with disabilities
- Previous experience working in a camp, park, or other recreational setting
- Experience operating a wide variety of grounds maintenance machinery and equipment (commercial mowers, backhoe, string, trimmers, blowers, etc.)
- Incumbents in this class must have adequate physical strength, stamina, physical agility, visual and auditory acuity, and must maintain such physical fitness as to be able to perform the duties of the class.
- A physical examination may be required.
- Incumbents in this class may be required to lift moderate to heavy weights and may be exposed to extreme weather conditions and risk of injury from equipment and assaultive and/or abusive patients and/or clients.
- Incumbents in this class may be required to complete an asbestos removal program consistent with EPA guidelines for operations and maintenance during employment in this class. Incumbents may be required to use protective equipment such as respirators and safety goggles.
